Dumka, Jan 16: Furious over the killing of Shyam Rajak (45) of Guljarbag locality under town police station of Godda district, his relatives and locals enforced blockade of road at Hatiya chowk of the town for nearly three hours on Sunday.

It was only after the police could arrest two youths namely Badal Kumar and Saksham Kumar who allegedly beat Rajak to death last night in a warehouse, and assurance of suitable compensation to the dependants of the deceased that the road blockade could be removed.

According to the reports both the arrested youths had arrived at Rajak’s home on Saturday night and took his son with them on a scooty.

The deceased father however also went out behind them sniffing some foul play and found that his son was being beaten up by them with sticks on some issue still shrouding in mystery.

Both the accused however resorted to violence against Rajak, witnessing him to have reached the spot and allegedly beat him black and blue and escaped.

Rajak was taken to the Sadar Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

The incident however sparked large scale resentment among the residents of the Guljarbag Muhalla of the town who blocked the main road near Hatiya Chowk as the dead body was handed over to the relatives after postmortem.

Hundreds of vehicles as such remained stranded at either side of the road till the road blockade remained enforced.

Although the reason behind the enmity of both the arrested youths with deceased’s son is yet to be officially ascertained but the same is said to be the outcome of the prevailing menace of narcotics to which a vast section of teenage boys and youths have turned addicted to.
