Ranchi, March 10: The RIMS governing body meeting, which was scheduled today from 11.30am, was deferred till March 26.

The decision was taken after physical verification of different emergency wards, trauma centres and other wards. The physical verification was done on the demand of BJP MP Sanjay Seth and MLA Samri Lal as the members of the governing body sat for a meeting under the chairmanship of state health minister Banna Gupta.

Gupta confirmed the deferment saying the meeting was deferred in the interest of all as the members were of the opinion that it was useless to discuss anything without having an idea of ground reality of the institute.

Seth confirmed the development saying he raised the demand of physical verification as he had been receiving regular information through media regarding the mismanagement at RIMS and sufferings of the poor people due to this.

“The issues involving absence of dietician for more than a one year and a half, the RIMS director alleging the state government for all the problems, pendency of file related to medicine scams and issue of hand over of dental college besides others had been coming to my knowledge and I thought it proper to participate in the meeting only after physical verification of the institute to find out a proper solution,” Seth said.

MLA Lal said he also supported the MP after he did not see any agenda concerning patients. “As I did not see any agenda in the meeting concerning common patients, I thought it proper for the governing body members to go for physical verification and the members accepted it,” he said.
