Ranchi, Feb.23: A team of the RIMS neurosurgery department extracted a bullet from the head of a 29-yr-old pregnant police woman after a six hours operation. “The bullet damaged the bone and went inside the brain. It was a challenging operation as both the unborn child and the mother were in danger. We made it successful under the leadership of Dr. Prof. Anil Kumar. Today she has been discharged,” Dr Vikas, one of the team members, informed through a tweet.
Contacted Dr Vikas for his comment he said the lady was admitted on February 11 and she had a four-month pregnancy.
Asked how she took the bullet, Dr Vikas said that someone fired on her from behind when she was washing utensils. Dr Vikas expressed his inability to share her identity but said the lady was from Mandar.
