Hazaribag, Dec 30: The family of Isha Alia alias Riya Kumari, who was murdered by her husband Prakash Albela on the Ranchi-Kolkata highway, wants punishment for Prakash who they said not only duped Riya by concealing that he is married but also a father of two.
This morning, when Lagatar24.com’s correspondent reached Riya’s parents’ house in Sighani, all were seen in shock and grief. Riya’s mother and her sisters Sangeeta and Sunita Devi failed to control themselves when asked about the duo’s relationship.
They said that Prakash was around 15 years older than Riya and he trapped her.
“We told her not to marry him but she didn’t listen. At that time, Riya did not know that Prakash is married. But when she went to her inlaw’s house after the marriage, this fact came to her knowledge,” said Riya’s sisters.
Notably, the brother of Riya lives in Dhanbad.
According to her family, Riya was earning and helping her parents as well. Still, Prakash was taking away her income and threatened her always not to keep any relationship with them.
Riya’s mother Reshmi Devi said her elder son died a few years ago, which shocked her husband Dhanuki Rana, who is now paralysed and is in bed.
“Riya was taking care of her father and all his treatment as well. She came in contact with Prakash in 2012 while doing a film of him,” she said.
She added that Riya completed her education at K.B. Women’s College and soon got the film from Prakash.
“She didn’t listen to me but married Prakash who kept torturing her always. My daughter had purchased land in Ranchi from her own income,” her mother added.
The family said they want strict action on Prakash and members of his family who were involved in this murder. They killed a girl who had lots of dreams to fulfil and to take care of her daughter.
“It’s a planned murder and police should investigate properly to reach the facts of this gruesome murder,” they added.
