New Delhi: Businessman Robert Vadra, husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for the third consecutive day on Thursday. The summons is linked to a money laundering case involving a land deal in Gurugram.
Alleges Political Targeting by BJP
Before entering the ED office, Vadra told reporters that the agency found “nothing wrong” in the land transaction. “In 2019 and 2020, I was already given a clean chit by officials and the then Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar,” he said.
He questioned the timing of the summons, asking, “If I’ve already answered everything, why summon me again after seven years? This is clearly a case of political witch-hunting.”
Priyanka Gandhi Accompanies Him
Priyanka Gandhi was seen accompanying her husband to the ED office. Their arrival drew media attention and support from Congress workers gathered at the venue.
Hints at Political Entry
When asked again about entering politics, Vadra responded, “People love me and want me to join politics. I will seek blessings from my family and work for the Congress. Let the ED summons keep coming — I will continue to fight for justice and the common people.”
Targets BJP Over Gandhi Family Chargesheet
Vadra also slammed the BJP over the chargesheet filed against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, calling it a political distraction tactic. “This is part of BJP’s narrative-building for elections. The public is smart — they can see through these distractions,” he said.
