Ranchi, June 18: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Saturday stopped an effort by agitators to create a ruckus at Ranchi Railway Station in Jharkhand’s capital to oppose the Agnipath Recruitment Scheme (ARS).

As a crowd of roughly 700 agitators in the guise of students reached the station, RPF personnel closed all the entrances and restrained them from going inside.

Later, the RPF also did a flag march at the station and circulating area and beefed up security arrangements in the wake of a nationwide protest against the scheme of appointment of Agniveer for four years.

Afterwards, the agitators assembled outside Raj Bhawan and staged demonstrations against ARS. They were carrying the national flag in their hands and shouting slogans against the Modi government.
