RU Syndicate  nod to appoint 15 assistant professors after JPSC recommendation

Ranchi, Apr 23: The Ranchi University syndicate on Saturday approved the varsity statute committee’s proposals after discussion. These decisions include maximum promotions while a few are related to hiring new assistant professors.

As per a notification released by the university, in the light of a letter received from the Jharkhand Public Service Commission giving consent to the appointment of Dr. Vandana Kumari, Zoology, P P K College, Bundu to the post of lecturer, the proposal to give post-facto approval to her has been accepted.

Similarly, the promotion of Dr. Sudhanshu Kumar, Upcharya, Botany, P P K College, Bundu to Acharya was approved in the light of the recommendation received from JPSC under Career Advancement Scheme. Along with this, the regularization of Ramesh Chandra Mishra and Krishna Rai in JN College, Dhurwa has been approved in the light of the order passed in Jharkhand High Court.

After JPSC’s approval to hire three candidates for commerce and 10 in economics under backlog recruitment along with two candidates for Santhali in regular recruitment, the RU Syndicate has also approved the same for the post of assistant professor.

Along with this, the RU Syndicate approved the promotion of Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, Lecturer, Urdu Department, KCB College, Bedo and Abdul Quddus Qureshi, Lecturer, Urdu Department, Mandar College, Mandar to Lecturer (increased pay) after approval from JPSC under the Career Advancement Scheme. The Syndicate also approved the promotion of six teachers at Gossner College.

It further approved promotions of several others including Dr Lekha Prasad, Lecturer, Economics Dept, Doranda College to Upacharya along with increased pay; Dr Ishwari Prasad, Lecturer, Zoology Dept with high pay to Lecturer (Upper Grade) under the Career Advancement Scheme.

It also approved the promotion of Subodh Kumar Singh, Lecturer, Bangla Dept, Ghatshila College, Ghatshila to Upcharya under the 10-year time-bound promotion scheme after approvals from JPSC.

Other promoted after approvals from JPSC include Dr Supriya, Reader, English Dept, Ranchi Women’s College; Dr Mathura Ram Ustad, Upacharya, History, KCB College; Dr Vinita Singh, Reader, Sociology Dept, Ranchi Women’s College and Dr Vinod Singh, Lecturer, Zoology Dept, KCB College.

Moreover, it approved decisions taken in prior meetings held at Nirmala College, along with those taken in meetings of the Finance Committee, Knowledge Council. Along with this, the university syndicate also approved a proposal to set up WiFi hotspots from BSNL and to give it a responsibility to maintain the set up. After the last fiasco related to the internet set up in RU, any comment over this decision may be passed only after the work is observed.

DSW Dr R K Sharma, Dr T N Sahu, Dr K C Prasad, Dr Hiranand, Dr Dinesh Kumar, Dr Hari Oraon, Dr B P Verma, Dr Manoj Kumar, Dr Vinayak Lal, Dr Pritam Kumar among others were present at the meeting.
