Dhanbad, April 23: A delegation of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University Teachers Association (BBMKUTA) under general secretary Dr Himanshu Shekhar Choudhary met Vice-Chancellor Dr Mukul Narayan Dev and urged him to take direction from the State human resources development department over confusion on PhD and M.Phil benefit to teachers.
BBMKUTA general secretary Dr Choudhary pointed out that due to misinterpretation of an HRD resolution by university authorities, several teachers of constituent colleges are deprived of benefits of the Ph.D. and M.Phil degrees.
“So take guidelines from the HRD over its resolution on PhD, M.Phil benefits so that all confusion could be cleared and teachers get justice,” said Dr Choudhary. BBMKUTA secretary Dr Krishna Murari, spokesperson Dr Jitendra Aryan, Dr Amulya Suman Beck, Dr Manas Acharya, Dr Ashok Mandal, Dr Sayatan Sil and Dr Gupta were the members of the delegation.
Dr Sudhanshu Shekhar Choudhary said that the vice- chancellor assured the delegation of seeking guidelines from the HRD over the government resolution on PhD, M.Phil increment soon.
As per state government resolution in 7th pay scale which was implemented from 1-1-2016 the teacher who would join with PhD degree would be given 5 increment, PhD after 3 increment and two increment for M.Phil.
But BBMKU authorities interprets that those who has done PhD after 1-1-2016 would not get its benefit.
“ It looks strange that state government resolution ( 9.5) for 6th pay commission has even said that those who have got registration for PhD and M.Phil at the time of joining would be given increment. But university authority misinterpret it”, said Dr Choudhary.
BBMKU TA said that in 5th pay scale Ph.d benefit was give four increment at time of joining and PhD after joining 2and one increment for M.Phil.
Teachers of BBMKU face loss of Rs 25000 to Rs 30,000 per month due to wrong interpretation of resolution by university authorities.
