Ranchi, July 12: Ranchi University is set to organise a one-day workshop in collaboration with Radio Khanchi 90.4 FM and the Department of Zoology.
The workshop is being organised for qualitative and creative potential development among researchers. Talking about it, Vice-Chancellor Ajit Kumar Sinha said, “A lot of research work is being done in science but its information is not reaching the common people properly. This is because there is a lack of ways in which complex scientific information can be written and spoken in the language of ordinary people.”
He further added that all participants will get the opportunity to attend the event in physical mode. The workshop is being organised by Radio Khanchi and the Department of Science and Technology, the Government of India and Vigyan Prasar.
Notably, the workshop will be attended by researchers pursuing PhD, DSE and post-doctoral fellowships in science disciplines. It is a series of programmes which are organised in different universities in the country.
In this sequence, the fifth workshop is to be conducted in RU. The main objective of the workshop is to develop the ability to write about science and scientific research for common people in research scholars.
Dr Manas Das, a well-known science writer and programme executive of All India Radio, Kolkata is to deliver his lecture as a resource person and will teach the techniques of science writing to the participants.
The organizer of the workshop, Dr Anand Kumar Thakur said that the information about participating in this workshop and registration has been shared in all the technical and technical universities of the state.
