Ranchi, Dec 9: A massive ruckus was witnessed at Bhojpuri film industry sensation Akshara Singh’s programme on Thursday held in Jharkhand’s Garhwa town following which the police were forced to resort to lathi charge to control the situation.

Reports claimed that some people misbehaved with the popular Bhojpuri actress at the event, following which there was uproar at the event, forcing the police to lathi charge to maintain the law and order. Many people were reportedly left injured while hundreds of chairs were also vandalised.

The commotion made Akshara Singh and her team upset, and they left the show midway.

Notably, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) organised the programme that was supposed to be attended by Akshara Singh. The programme was a part of the ruling JMM-Congress coalition’s Khatiyani Johar Yatra which was started by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on December 8. CM Soren had already addressed the people who had gathered at this programme in Garhwa.

After the CM left, a song-and-dance programme of Akshara Singh and another actress Nisha Singh was scheduled to be held on the same stage. However, beg\fore it could begin, the ruckus began.

The ruckus has once again proven the fact of growing popularity and craze of the Bhojpuri cinema in the Bhojpur belt of the state. Notably, Singh, who is primarily active in Bhojpuri cinema and is one of the highest-paid Bhojpuri actresses; is also famous for her roles in Hindi television shows and her stint as a contestant on Bigg Boss OTT.

Along with this, Singh was earlier making headlines for her relationship and breakup with Bhojpuri singer Pawan Singh of the ‘Lagavelu Lipstick’ fame.

Earlier, Khesari Lal Yadav and Akshara Singh’s programme was organised at Chamtu village in Latehar district in which thousands of spectators turned up to see the two artists. The situation worsened when a large number of people climbed the mobile tower to see their favourite stars, so the program had to be stopped midway. After this, people got angry and started creating a ruckus. Prior to this, she also performed when she visited Dhanbad during Dandiya night for Durga Puja.
