S E Railway observing Swachhta Pakhwada

Jamshedpur, Sept 28: South Eastern Railway is observing a Swachhta Pakhwada- 2021 ( cleanliness fortnight) to promote cleanliness on railway stations under its jurisdiction.

The cleanliness drive will continue till October 2.

Different  activities like cleanliness awareness, sanitisation of railway station premises including work places and surroundings, tree plantation,  maintaining hygiene, checking of water purity at stations, are being practised  throughout SER including its two important divisions Ranchi and Chakradharpur.

South Eastern Railway’s officers and staff have also given their ‘Shramdaan’ at different workshops, carsheds, loco sheds and depots to implement the special cleanliness drive.

A webinar on Swachhata at South Eastern Railway Headquarters was   conducted   on the topic “Plastic Waste Management and Waste to Energy Projects” and “Water Stress Management in Climate Change Scenario” was conducted on September 26.

Debashis Ray, retired Chief Mechanical Engineer, SER was the Guest Speaker at the webinar.

All Covid protocol and safety measures specifically hygiene and sanitization are being adopted during  Swachhta Pakhwada to make railway premises cleaner and safer as well.

Officials said those passengers or other rail users found littering on the station premises would have to pay fine as per Railway Act.
