Hazaribag, April 23: The accident prone Danua Ghati on GT road in Chouparan claiming many lives this year led to NHAI sending a proposal to the transport ministry for correcting the technical and construction faults. Till NHAI got clearance, Chouparan officer-in-charge Shambhu Nand Ishwar took steps to save lives. On his initiative, drums filled with sand are kept at Danua stretch making drivers slow their speed on this four lane which, in turn, are saving them from accidents here.

Sources said at Mahanetand Point in Danuwa, the road is having downward slope which used to increase the speed of the vehicle. Even the faults and bends make the vehicles overturn resulting in loss of lives frequently.

With Iswar taking steps to keep sand-filled drums at the starting point of this accident-prone Danua, everyone is praising his effort to save lives. These drums were kept some fifteen days ago and since then no accident or loss of lives has been reported which is for the first time in these years, added local residents.

Safety in charge of NHAI, S S Sanga also praised Ishwar. He said Ishwar’s initiatives brought positive results at Danua.
