New Delhi, Oct 18: The bail hearing for Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, who was detained by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with an alleged money laundering case, will proceed on October 21, according to a special court’s announcement on Tuesday.

In addition, Raut’s judicial custody was prolonged by Special Judge M. G. Deshpande until October 21 when he was brought before the court on Tuesday at the conclusion of his remand.

NCP leader Eknath Khadse, who had come to the court to make his presence known in connection with a money laundering case brought against him by the Enforcement Directorate, met with Raut there.

During the brief conversation between the two commanders, Raut was overheard telling Khadse that he would soon be released from prison.

The alleged financial irregularities in the reconstruction of a Patra Chawl (row tenement) and associated financial transactions involving the Sena leader’s wife and associates are the subject of the ED’s investigation against Raut.
