Ranchi, Jan.13: BJP rebel Saryu Roy who defeated former chief minister Raghubar Das on the issue of corruption is now worried with the dilly-dallying attitude of Hemant Soren led UPA government of Jharkhand on the issue of corruption.
This was reflected from a letter of Roy written to CM Soren. In the letter expressing his concern over the dilly-dallying attitude, Roy has threatened to take the matter before the court in case of further delay on the part of the government.
Roy in his letter explained how the government could do nothing for two years in the matter of corruption despite giving assurance on the floor of the house and despite having all evidence. The letter mentions how the government is sitting tight on the files related to scams despite having completed the preliminary inquiry.
The scams, which are mentioned in the letter, include the ones that took place in the name of giving consultancy to Meinhardt for development and sewage and drainage system, distribution of blankets to poor, organizing mega event like Momentum Jharkhand to invite global investors, distributing Toffee-T-Shirt on the occasion of Republic Day and organizing Sunidhi Chauhan cultural programme besides others.
Roy through his letter asks how come an FIR in the cases of scams being delayed despite having all evidence and completion of preliminary inquiry in the matter. Roy pointing out the dilly-dallying attitude of the government mentioned that this attitude helped boost the morale of criminals and they are making mockery of laws. A copy of the letter written on January 11 is available with lagatar24.com.
JMM spokesperson and general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya has already supported Roy. He during a press conference on Tuesday, passed buck on corona pandemic for the delay but when contacted for his comment he parried reply saying as a party office bearer he is ‘not in a position to reply’ but at the same time he said ‘probe should definitely be done soon.’ He expressed his solidarity with Roy on the issue.
