New Delhi, Sep 3: Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Sports Minister for the Tamil Nadu government and the son of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu was the subject of a complaint from a Supreme Court lawyer on Sunday for his contentious remarks on “Sanatan Dharma” on Saturday.
In a speech, Udhayanidhi Stalin allegedly made statements that were provocative, inflammatory, disparaging and inciting toward Sanatan Dharam, according to the complainant Vineet Jindal, a practising attorney.
Complaint lawyer Vineet Jindal stated that since he is a Hindu and a follower of Sanatan dharma, Udhayanidhi Stalin’s words that Sanatan dharma should be eliminated and that Sanatan is like mosquitoes, dengue, corona and malaria have wounded his religious feelings.
Udhayanidhi Maran’s statements, according to the complainant, demonstrate his disdain for Sanatan Dharma. He is an MLA and Minister in the Karnataka Government, and he has taken an oath to serve in accordance with the country’s constitution and to respect all regions. Despite this, he purposefully made a provocative and defamatory statement about the Sanatan Dharma with the aim of fostering animosity between groups based on religion.
By using words like “eradication of Santana dharma” and comparing Dharma to Mosquitoes, dengue, corona, and malaria and saying that “these things which we cannot oppose, we have to eradicate them. Sanatanam is also like this. Eradication and not opposing Sanatanam has to be our first task” demonstrates his desire to call for and promote the genocidal murder of adherents of Hindu dharma, the complaint said.
By making such a statement, Udhayanidhi Stalin violated sections 153A and B, 295A, 298 and 505 of the Indian Penal Code, which are all very serious and cognizable offences, said the complainant and requested the police to file an FIR against him in accordance with the aforementioned section.
The complainant claims that Udhayanidhi Stalin called for a “Sanatan Abolition Conference” while speaking at a gathering.
Udhayanidhi Stalin said, “I congratulate the organizers for calling the conference as “eradication of Santana dharma’ instead of ‘opposing Sanatan Dharma’.
“There are some things that we have to eradicate and we can’t merely oppose. Mosquitoes, dengue, corona, and malaria are things that we cannot oppose, we have to eradicate them. Sanatan is also like this. Eradication and not opposing Sanatan has to be our first task,” Stalin said.
Sanatan Dharma, he added, was hostile to social justice and equality.
