Earlier, Pawan Khera was deplaned from a flight to Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, and was then arrested at the Delhi airport. On the tarmac, over 50 members of Congress staged a rare protest and halted the flight.

Senior Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera was compelled to leave the IndiGo flight. He was travelling to Raipur with a sizable contingent of Congress leaders to attend an All India Congress Committee conference (AICC).

The Assam Police detained Pawan Khera after they arrived at the airport with a FIR.
