Ranchi, Dec 31: Schools in Ranchi have started gearing up to vaccinate their students between the age group of 15-18 years. However, no guidelines have been sent to the school administration for the vaccination yet.

Taking a rough survey of the schools across the district, they have welcomed the decision of the Ranchi administration to visit the schools to vaccinate the students as it would make the vaccination process fast.

Marwari High School Principal Ashish Kumar said that the school is fully prepared to host the vaccination drive on the premises as soon as the directives are issued by the administration.

“A total of 1,500 students will have to be vaccinated and the decision of district administration to vaccinate students in the school itself is a good initiative,” Kumar said.

“We have planned to call students according to their roll number through WhatsApp which will help in following the social distancing norms in the school premises,” he further added.

Welcoming the decision of the district administration, DAV Kapildev Principal MK Sinha said that the school is always ready to support the administration and it is fully prepared to host the vaccination drive to vaccinate the respective age group children.

Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan during a meeting on Thursday directed the concerned officials to complete the necessary preparations for the start of the campaign for COVID-19 vaccination for the age group of 15-18 years which will start from 03 January 2022.

Ranchi District administration has decided to form clusters in the school for the vaccination of 15-18 years age group, where the district administration team will reach and give vaccines to the adolescents of the respective age group.
