Ranchi, Nov 23: As the Jharkhand government is preparing to open the primary section of schools after a long gap, city-based educational institutions are gearing up to develop the necessary infrastructure required to run classes in schools in accordance with covid protocols.
A group of school principals across the city shared their plans to sanitize schools, maintain social distancing norms and create awareness among young students for their safety from novel corona virus.
DAV Kapildev Public School’s principal MK Sinha said that the school is fully prepared to bring all the students in the offline mode of education. Even the parents want the schools to reopen soon.
“Near about 75% of students from class 6 to 12 are attending the classes in offline mode and the rest are still taking classes in online mode,” Sinha said.
“This hybrid education concept should be scrapped with full-fledged offline class should be permitted to the schools,” Sinha further said.
JVM Shyamali Principal Samarjeet Jana said that the school is sanitized twice a day, also 6 feet distance is maintained among the students and even no assembly is conducted.
“We have two separate wings for classes nursery to 5, where classes of nursery to 2 and 3 to 5 will be conducted. Only two classes of students will be allowed to come on a particular day,” Jana said.
Surendrenath Centenary School’s principal Samita Sinha said that students will gain more knowledge by coming to school rather than studying at home but the students’ safety should not be compromised.
“We have ample space for conduction of classes and even the classes can be conducted in the ground following the covid protocols,” Sinha said.
A delegation of the Private School and Children Welfare Association (PASWA) will soon meet Chief Minister Hemant Soren to discuss the opening of the schools from class nursery to 5.
