Daltonganj, Nov 21: “Are ‘new bahus’ who have come enrolled as voters here”, asked the sub divisional magistrate, Daltonganj, Rajesh Kumar Sah during his inspection of poll booths on Sunday. Notably, today is the day for special camp for the ongoing special summary revision of the electoral roll 2022.
Sub divisional magistrate said if new bahus are not enrolled as voters here then it is the prime task of their in-laws to get it done and these camps will help them in the process.
Sah also said if there are cases where a voter is no more, then it is equally incumbent upon the concerned family to come to the booth and help in the deletion of the name of that voter.
Those who are still left out despite fulfilling the age criterion that is 18 years should also make the best use of this camp to get enrolled.
Sources said that the response of the common voters to such camps is poor. There is a lack of concern and awareness among the voters.
When asked if he found the booth level officer on duty and at the prescribed booth SDO sadar said our booth level officers were there in proper attendance.
When enquired about the presence of Booth Level Officer at the prescribed booth, SDO Sadar said that the all the booth level officers are present in their booths and no voter will have to face problem.
He agreed that civil society activists ought to take strides for the ongoing special summary revision of the electoral roll which began on November 1 and will wind up by January 1, 2022.
Sources said that the voters get conscious of their names etc only when the election is around otherwise deletion of names, correction in address or in the name of the constituency etc all remain unprioritized.
