Jamshedpur, April 1: South Eastern Railway on Friday notified experimental stoppage of several express trains at Bamra which had recently witnessed a public agitation paralysing train movement in Chakradharpur railway division.
Officials said that it was decided that 22839/22840 Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Express, 12834/12833 Howrah-Ahmedabad-Howrah Express and 13288/13287 Rajendra Nagar-Durg- Express will stop at Bamra on an experimental basis for a period of six months with immediate effect.
The 22839 Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Express will arrive in Bamra at 06.09 am and will depart at 6:11 am.
In the opposite direction, 22840 Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Express will arrive in Bamra at 08.01 pm and will depart at 08.03 pm.
The 12834 Howrah-Ahmedabad Express will arrive Bamra at 6.43 am and will depart at 6:45 am.
In the opposite direction, 12833 Ahmedabad-Howrah Express will arrive in Bamra at 5.53 am and will depart at 5.55 am.
The 13288 Rajendra Nagar-Durg Express will arrive in Bamra at 11.53 am and will depart at 11.55 am.
In the opposite direction, 13287 Durg-Rajendra Nagar Express will arrive in Bamra at 2.07 pm and will depart at 2.09 pm, after two minutes stoppage.
Railway officials said that depending on the response the mail and express trains will have permanent stoppages at that station.
Notably, the local passengers had staged a rail roko agitation at Bamra station on March 30 to push their demands for stoppage of express trains besides improving passenger amenities.
