Jamshedpur, July 6: South Eastern Railway has loaded 48.94 million tonnes of originating freight in the first three months i.e. April to June of the current financial year (2022-23).
During this period, the railway zone has loaded 12.06 million tonnes of coal, which is 24.72 % more than the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
There has also been an increase of 3.60 % in originating freight revenue in comparison to the first three months of the last fiscal.
From April to June of the current financial year, the revenue generation from originating freight loading has been Rs 4,190.27 crore as against Rs 4,044.53 crore in the same period of the previous year.
The main commodities of freight loading during the first three months of 2022-23 were iron ore, coal, pig iron and finished steel, cement, fertilizer, petroleum products etc.
