Hazaribag, March 31: All the arrangements have been made to ensure a peaceful procession in Hazaribagh town which will start hitting the town late at night today taking more than 36 hours to get this festival completed. With this, the town has been turned into a fortress with security personnel seen everywhere.

DC Nancy Sahay urged all to celebrate the festival with peace and harmony. SP Manoj Ratan Chauthe asked the people not to believe in rumours.

The DC stressed for proper coordination and support from Ramnavami Mahasamiti and akharas for a peaceful procession. She even warned that troublemakers will not be spared. “We will monitor each and every activity of the town through CCTV cameras installed at various points,” she added.

Sources said all the volunteers were given t-shirts and Identity cards by the district administration. Apart from that, each and every procession has been given a code by their respective thanas. More than 5000 policemen and officials will man each and every inch of the town with companies of paramilitary forces as well.

Last evening, a mock drill of the security forces was organized at the police line to prepare them for each and every situation during the passing of the procession for a 6km stretch known as the procession route in town.

Due to the large number of injuries every year, special arrangements have been made at the Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital with duty charts prepared for round-the-clock duty. NGOs have equipped medical camps for the procession route to provide on spot treatment to the people.
