Meanwhile, security personnel continue to search the Bhata-Durian area, which is near to the Dehra Ki Gali (DKG) woodland ridge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri-Poonch district. On the evening of October 14, the Army conducted a counter-terrorist operation in the Nar Khas Forest area of Mendhar, Poonch. A strong exchange of fire occurred during the operation, and two Army men, Rifleman Vikram Singh Negi and Rifleman Yogambar Singh, were seriously injured and ultimately died as a result of their injuries.

On Friday, vehicular traffic was prohibited on the route between Bhimber Gali and Surankote, according to police.

On October 11, five Army servicemen, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), were killed in anti-terrorist operations in the DKG area of Rajouri, which is next to the Poonch sector.

DGP Dilbag Singh of J&K also chaired a meeting with senior police on Friday to examine the security situation.
