Sensex above 60,000, Nifty at record high; IT index down by 3%

Mumbai, Oct.11: The Nifty50 index touched new highs in early trade on Monday, reversing losses from the previous session. After reaching a new intraday high of 17,981, the 50-pack index was trading 68 points higher at 17,962. The BSE Sensex, meanwhile, climbed almost 200 points to 60,262.

Reliance Industries’ stock fell from its high of the day, although it was still up 1% thanks to the acquisition of the whole interest in REC Solar Holdings. Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC’s stock opened flat on the stock market, at Rs 712 per share.

With the exception of Nifty IT, which was down 3%, all sectoral indices were in the green. A total of 1936 shares have increased in value, 949 shares have decreased in value, and 132 shares have remained steady.
