Ranchi, May 28: Police in the city are yet to find a clue of the D.A.V.Kapildev Public School principal M.K.Sinha who has become incommunicado after an FIR was registered against him for exploiting women employees of his school.
The FIR was registered on May 24 but so far police do not have any clue about the principal.
“This suggests non-seriousness of the police taking the matter of sexual exploitation of women employees in the school, which is supposed to be the safest campus not only for students but also for all those working there to shape the future of thousands of citizens,” a resident of A.G. Co-operative Colony residing near the school said expressing his concern taking the delay in the police action.
A parent associated with the school supported the situation saying that the police officials are giving the principal opportunity to protect him.
“Showing leniency towards a person facing charges of committing a crime against women is not good. It is in the interest of all that the police take quick action in the matter to bring the truth before the public. If the principal is innocent, a clean chit must be given to him to give a message that a false FIR can not harass an innocent person. If not, the principal must get proper punishment to give a message to society that post and position are no bar for police to take action against criminals,” the parent said.
Another parent echoed the same saying schoolchildren and teachers are the worst sufferers due to the delay in arresting the principal.
“After the matter of Principal’s misconduct became public, the majority of parents and teachers have started finding some alternative way to get rid of the school. In such a situation, the academic atmosphere has been adversely affected. If the police do not take quick action in the matter, the situation will become worse,” the parent said.
Contacted a police official at the Argora police station where the FIR was registered against the principal, he said proper legal actions are being taken.
“The police first ensured that the statement of sexual exploitation is recorded before the magistrate and now are proceeding in the case properly. Very soon the principal will be arrested in case he does not surrender before the court voluntarily or obtain bail,” a police official said.
Officer-in-charge of the Argora police station, Vinod Kumar, admitted the delay saying the probe will be expedited.
“Constables and officers were engaged in the Panchayat election. Now the election is over, the probe will be expedited. The help of the technical team will be taken to ascertain the location of the principal,” OC Kumar said.
On May 24, police registered a case of sexual exploitation against the principal on the information of the nurse of the school.
The Principal has been booked under various sections including 354 (assaults or uses criminal force to any woman or abets such act with the intention of disrobing or compelling her to be naked), 345A ( physical contact and advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures ), 354B ( Assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe). 345D ( watches, or captures the image of, a woman engaging in a private act in circumstances where she would usually have the expectation of not being observed either by the perpetrator), 375A ( sexual intercourse with a woman against her will, without her consent, by coercion, misrepresentation or fraud or at a time when she has been intoxicated or duped, or is of unsound mental health and in any case if she is under 18 years of age), 376C ( Sexual intercourse by a person in authority ) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.
