Mumbai, May 5: Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party, who on May 2 shockingly announced his resignation as party chief stated he had changed his mind and has reversed his decision today.
The committee appointed to select the new NCP leader had earlier rejected Pawar’s resignation.
“The committee has unanimously passed a resolution. It unanimously rejects his decision to step down and urges him to continue as party president,” NCP leader Praful Patel said after a meeting of the committee.
Following his announcement that he would be stepping down as NCP leader, Pawar himself established the committee, which also included Ajit Pawar, Supriya Sule, Patel, and Chhagan Bhujbal.
