Additionally, after more than 24 years, a non-Gandhi will be in charge when Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra decided not to run for party president.

The Congress has said that no other party has an internal democracy like its own, and that it is the only one with a central electoral body conducting organisational polls.

The next elections would undoubtedly be historic since the new president will succeed Sonia Gandhi, who has led the party for the longest period of time since 1998, aside from the two years from 2017 and 2019 when Rahul Gandhi grabbed the reins. In addition, after more than 24 years, the party will elect a president who is not a Gandhi.
