Amritsar, Nov 4: Sudhir Suri, leader of the Punjab Shiv Sena succumbed to his injuries on Friday after being shot at in Amritsar, according to the police.
Suri and a few other party leaders were protesting outside a temple in the city when the event occurred, according to them.
After being shot at, Suri was taken to the hospital where he passed away from his wounds, according to police officials who spoke to ANI. The accused has been detained, and his weapons have been found, according to them.
“Sudhir Suri was shot outside Gopal Mandir, Amritsar during some agitation. He sustained bullet injuries and was rushed to hospital and died. Accused arrest, his weapons recovered,” said Amritsar CP.
