Daltonganj, June 27: Two senior residents of Medinirai Medical College Hospital have been served show-cause notices today.
The superintendent of MMCH Dr Dilip Kumar Singh issued the order today. Lagatar24.com has a copy of this.
The two doctors are Ashish Pal, the surgeon on duty and Chandan Kumar, the physician on duty. Both are resident doctors at MMCH.
They were found absent from their duties on the night of June 26.
According to sources around 10.30 pm, the district Congress President Bittu Pathak had arrived at the hospital for medical assistance to a child which was duly provided.
However, he did not find these two residents around at night.
A complaint was lodged by him with the medical superintendent who today issued show-cause notices to these two.
Their salary for June has been put on hold till they file their reply to the show-cause notices and it is found satisfactory.
Medical sources said there is an aged lady admitted in the Covid care centre here for last many days due to her respiratory distress following her first testing Covid positive and later testing Covid negative, so these senior residents were around the Covid care centres.
The lady having respiratory distress finally left the Covid care centre for her treatment in Ranchi on the intervening night of June 26 / 27.
Medical Superintendent Dr Dilip Kumar Singh said, “We will wait for their reply to the show-cause notices served to them.”
The two senior residents have been given 24 hours to reply from the time of the receipt of the notices.
On the other hand, the district Congress president Bittu Pathak said medical services at night in MMCH are deficient and wanting.
Pathak said doctors skip their night duties. The duty roster on paper is smart but the availability of the doctors on duty is seriously missing.
The Congress district president said he has brought this episode to the notice of Palamu DC Shashi Ranjan also.
