New Delhi, Dec 9: Aaftab Poonawala’s judicial custody has been extended by 14 days by the Saket court in Delhi as of Friday. He appeared in front of the judge through video conference.
Aaftab was charged with killing his partner Shraddha Walker on May 18 and is presently being held in Tihar prison. He was initially supposed to be brought in person, but security concerns caused the decision to be changed.
The Delhi Police are still investigating the murder of Shraddha, the court was informed by the investigating officer of the Mehrauli police station and the judicial custody of the accused should be extended for 14 days.
Aaftab spent 13 days in judicial custody and was housed in the Tihar jail, where he was sent for narcotics and polygraph testing. The DNA and FSL reports are still pending for the Delhi Police.
Aaftab cut his partner, Shraddha, into 35 pieces, put her body parts in the refrigerator, and dumped the remains in the Delhi jungles. After five months, the individual was taken into custody on November 14.
