Dhanbad, Aug 21: The Deoghar district administration has launched a Toto Rickshaw ambulance, the first of its kind in the state, to provide timely health service to Shrawan Mela devotees on crowded Kawar Path.
Deoghar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vishal Sagar giving this information said that Toto and bike ambulances have been launched to provide timely treatment to devotees who fall sick or get injured on the crowded path on the way to offering Argh to Baba Baidyanath.Jyotirling.
“Since ambulances can’t reach timely on narrow lanes or crowded places (amidst the rush of 2 lakhs devotees), for providing medical help to devotees, Toto Rickshaws or bike ambulances would easily go there and carry patients to hospital in a serious condition,” said DC Vishal Sagar.
The Toto Rickshaw ambulance facility is being provided for sick devotees from Kawaria Path to Kumaita route line.
The DC said devotees from across the country and abroad come to offer sacred water to Baba Baidyanath during the state government-run Shrawani Mela. Keeping this in mind, Toto Rickshaw has been introduced to provide super speciality health services.
Such Toto Rickshaw ambulance equipped with a doctor and para medical staff would give injured devotees rest and treatment on the spot.
When Rahul Sinha was the DC of Deoghar (at present he is Ranchi DC) he had launched a bike ambulance for devotees during Shrawani Mela.
Now new DC of Deoghar Vishal Sagar has launched the Toto Rickshaw ambulance service for devotees
