Ranchi, Feb. 11: Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday kicked off the haath se haath jodo (join hands) campaign from Sahibganj district which in the past couple of months has been on the centre-stage of national political discourse owing to Rs. 1000 crore illegal stone mining.

Kharge addressed a rally on the ground of the Shreekunda High School at Barharwa block of Sahibganj which coincidently remained the launching ground for the Enforcement Directorate into the illegal mining investigation where Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, his cabinet colleague and Congress minister Alamgir Alam and many others are under the scanner of the agency.

Kharge said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra undertaken by Rahul Gandhi remained successful which will change the political direction of the country in the coming time. He said that the haath se haath jodo campaign was an extension of Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Kharge lashed out at the BJP and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue surrounding industrialist Gautam Adani. He charged Narendra Modi for extending undue favour to Adani.

“Before 2019, Adani owned a property worth Rs 50000 crore. In 2019 he owned property to the tune of Rs One Lakh Crore. In the last two and half years with the help of Modi and Amit Shah he became the owner of Rs 13 lakh crore. This was no magic,” he said.

He alleged that under instruction of Modi and Shah, Adani was given a loan from LIC and SBI. “Rs. 82000 crore of the poor were given to Adani from LIC and SBI. When Rahul Gandhi raised the matter in Parliament, his speech was termed unparliamentary. They target opponents with the help of central agencies namely the ED and the CBI,” he said.

Without naming the illegal stone mining scam, Kharge said that the BJP wants to do the same thing in Jharkhand with the help of the CBI and the ED. “This is what is going on across the country. Now both Modi and Shah want to do the same in Jharkhand,” he said.

Kharge appreciated the Hemant Soren-led JMM-Congress-RJD government in Jharkhand. He said that Modi and Shah are not able to digest the good governance in Jharkhand hence they are using the CBI and the ED in Jharkhand.

Kharge said that the BJP demolished all institutions and infrastructure created during the Congress rule.

He said that the nation is facing hatred created by the BJP and the Congress workers must realize this threat and come forward to save the nation.
