New Delhi, Jan 13: Singer Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis Presley died at the age of 54 on Thursday after being hospitalized earlier that day. The death on Thursday came after a medical emergency and brief hospitalization.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla Presley said in a statement Thursday evening. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”
The announcement came just hours after her mother, Priscilla Presley had confirmed that Lisa Marie Presley was rushed to the hospital earlier Thursday.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement on Thursday that it had responded to a call about a woman in Calabasas, who was ‘not breathing’ but did not further specify the person’s condition.
The daughter of one of the most celebrated artists in history, Presley followed the career path of her father, Elvis Presley.

She released three albums in which she set out to distinguish her rock sound while also paying homage to the man who forever changed the American soundscape by blending blues, gospel, pop and country.
Her music career, however, never exploded as it had for her father. But his influence was evident in her songs and some lyrics. Still, her last name had always enshrined her as a celebrity.
