Ranchi, Dec.30: Police and politicians have pulled their socks up in the state to give relief to common people suffering from sky touching prices of petrol and diesel. While politicians are relaxing petrol prices, police are providing safety from the theft of diesel.
This was reflected from the action of the police, who arrested six involved in the theft of diesel today a day after chief minister Hemant Soren announced Rs 25 per litre subsidy to the ration card holder families having a two-wheeler in their houses upto the limit of 10 litres in a month from January 26.
The six include Keshav Rao, Deepak, Subhash Parmar, Shahrukh Khan, Bhupendra Kumar and Saurav Kumar. Except for Saurav, all are residents of Madhya Pradesh. A quantity of 125 litres of diesel and 20-litrelitre mobil was recovered from their possession besides 26 plastic containers, each of 35 litre capacity.
S.P(rural) Naushad Alam informed this in a press conference organised at Namkum police station, where a case of diesel theft was reported on Wednesday. All the thieves had come from Madhya Pradesh and had taken shelter in a rented house in Nagri. They were using a truck with a fake registration number to commit the theft. Police also recovered the truck.
