Six labourers of Jharkhand stranded in Oman, plead to return homeland

Vishnugarh, July 30: Six migrant labourers of Jharkhand are stuck in Muscat, the capital of Oman. The trapped labourers are from Narayanpur in Bokaro district, Vishnugarh in Hazaribagh and Bagodar block of Giridih district. All went to Oman’s capital Muscat on 22 December 2022 to work in a contract company for the installation of mobile towers. They have not received even a single rupee for five months. The situation of poverty is such that they have become helpless even to eat. Their passports have been seized.

These labourers trapped in Oman’s capital Muscat have made the video viral through social media pleading to return home. Sikandar Ali, who works for the migrant labourers, is also trying for the return of the labourers to their homeland. The trapped labourers include Sanjay Mahto of Narki in Vishnugarh, Mahadev Mahto of Uchhagana, Dinesh Mahto of Ambadih, Arjun Mahto, Kishore Mahto of Bagodar Mahuri in Giridih district and Yugal Mahto of Penk Pokharia under Penk Narayanpur police station.
