Six workers die in blast at Himachal factory, 12 suffer injuries

Shimla, Feb 22: An explosion occurred at a factory in Una, Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, killing at least six workers. At least ten others are thought to have been burned as a result of the incident.

The injured were taken to a hospital in Una. fire department personnel and other district officials are present at the site.

Una Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma informed that most of the dead and injured are migrant labourers. He also added that police and rescue personnel are present at the spot.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to offer his condolences.

हिमाचल प्रदेश के ऊना की एक फैक्ट्री में हुआ हादसा दुखद है। जिन लोगों को इसमें अपनी जान गंवानी पड़ी है, उनके परिजनों के प्रति मेरी गहरी संवेदनाएं। इसके साथ ही मैं हादसे में घायल सभी लोगों के शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने की कामना करता हूं: PM @narendramodi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF for the next of kin of those who lost their lives due to the accident. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.
