Hazaribag, Aug 14: Police arrested a smuggler with 4 kg of marijuana (ganja) from the Daru police station area of Hazaribag district. The arrested smuggler has been identified as Arun Kumar. 4 kg 40 grams of Ganja has been recovered from him.
Hazaribagh SP Manoj Ratan Chauthe had received a tip-off that smugglers were moving into the Daru area with ganja on a red colour bike. After this information, a raid team was formed under the leadership of sub-divisional police officer, Vishnugarh, Anuj Oraon. The team started checking vehicles on Hazaribagh-Bagodar road near Jhumra Chowk. This road is popular as NH-100.
During checking, a red colour bike was seen coming from Hazaribag’s town side. Seeing the police force, the man on the bike tried to escape from there at high speed. The team took quick action and caught him along with the bike.
Chauthe confirmed the arrest followed by recovery.
