Dhanbad, May 11: Eight days of special classes of the Yoga Foundation course for Interns began at the Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad on Thursday morning.
SNMMCH principal Dr Jyotiranjan Prasad while inaugurating the special training classes, which will continue till May 18, said that National Medical Commission (NMC) has introduced Yoga Foundation Course for MBBS students keeping their all-round development in mind.
“ Take yoga training classes seriously as it will solve physical, mental and health-related all problems easily and immediately”, he exhorts the participant Interns of the institution.
The classes for MBBS are being held on the directive of the National Medical Commission which launched a new course of Yoga Foundation for medical college students across the country last year (2022). The training will be held for an hour daily at least for a period of 10 days.

Today, as per the scheduled programme, classes of Yoga Foundation began at 5.30 am. Interns ( boys and girls doctors) of the college appeared in large numbers on time.
After the inauguration by principal Dr Jyotiranjan Prasad, yoga experts and the teacher’s team of Dhanbad Patanjali Yoga Centre comprising Samrendra Kumar Paswan alias Omji, Manoj Singh, Prabhakar Kumar, Umashankar Singh, Neha Kapoor, Tapas Kumar guided the Interns and helped them to perform different techniques of yoga.

Most of the Interns after the first-day class expressed satisfaction over the yoga training and said that immediately they did not feel any benefit but it gave them mental relaxation and freshness.
SNMMCH principal Dr Prasad, keeping the importance of the NMC Yoga Foundation course in mind, has set up a team of four faculty members Dr Hemanti, Dr Neha Srivastava, Dr Kunal Priyadarshi and Dr Shahir Nazir for monitoring the 10-day Yoga training classes.
