New Delhi, Aug 25: In connection with the death of BJP politician Sonali Phogat, the Goa Police have registered a murder case. The FIR was filed under section 302 of the IPC in response to the family of Phogat’s complaint.
Today, Phogat’s autopsy was performed with the family’s approval.
“We have now given our consent for the autopsy,” Phogat’s nephew, Moninder Phogat, said.
“We have given consent to the police because our lawyers and doctors suggested that after 72 hours, the body will degrade further,” he said.
Notably, Sonali Phogat breathed her last on August 23. As her sister put it, ‘Sonali felt uneasy after eating her food,’ she had suggested a conspiracy. Anjuna Police had earlier reported a case of an unnatural death. Sonali Phogat was reportedly brought dead to the hospital on August 23 at around 9:00 am.
