New Delhi, July 26: Sonia Gandhi, the leader of the Congress party, is scheduled to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today, for the second round of interrogation in the case involving the National Herald.
ED had previously questioned the head of Congress on July 21 for over three hours regarding the alleged money laundering case involving the National Herald newspaper.
Prior to the party leader Sonia Gandhi’s upcoming second appearance before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the National Herald case, the Congress is preparing for a “Sansad to Sadak” rally. On Tuesday morning, the entire Congress Lok Sabha will convene at the party office at Parliament House.
When the party president makes another appearance before the Enforcement Directorate, the party will stage a Satyagraha.
In a letter to each Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), Congress General Secretary K. C. Venugopal asked them to undertake a nonviolent Satyagraha at any Gandhi statue or significant historical site in their respective capital city.
Notably, the National Herald newspaper is owned by the Congress-supported Young Indian Private Limited, which is the subject of an investigation into potential financial irregularities. In the meantime, protests against the ED’s questioning of Sonia Gandhi in the alleged money laundering case were organised by Congress officials and supporters around the country.
