Daltonganj, Aug 29: Three persons, including a 12-year-old child, were killed and five others injured when a new luxury car first hit a Luna biker following which the car driver lost control trampling eight people on the road near Baraon village under the Chainpur police station area in Palamu last night past 9 pm, said the officer-in-charge of the Chainpur police station Rupesh Kumar Dubey.
The three killed by the car have been identified as Rohit Chourasia, 12, Udal Chourasia, 40 and Madhu Mahto, 42. Police officer Dubey said it is yet to be known if the Luna man is among the three killed or not.
The five injured are undergoing treatment in the MMCH Daltonganj, said the police officer.
Dubey said the car has been seized but its driver managed to escape. The car has a Jharkhand registration number. Police are trying to ascertain its ownership and other details.
