New Delhi, Jan 24: A customer who misbehaved with a female crew member on a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Hyderabad has now been detained. Absar Alam, the passenger, was detained after a Spicejet security officer filed a complaint in connection with the incident.
A charge under Section 354A has also been filed against the passenger, according to the Delhi Police.
Earlier, Airline Spice Jet reported on Monday misbehaviour by a passenger with the crew members on the Delhi-Hyderabad flight. The accused passenger identified as Absar Alam, was arrested on Tuesday after a complaint by a spice jet security officer.
The airline said that “On January 23, 2023, SpiceJet wet-leased Corendon aircraft was scheduled to operate SG-8133 (Delhi – Hyderabad). During boarding at Delhi, one passenger behaved in an unruly & inappropriate manner, harassing and causing disturbance to cabin crew”.
A video, which has now gone viral, showed two passengers onboard the SpiceJet flight being deplaned by the crew members after they indulged in unruly behaviour. In the video, the passengers can also be seen shouting at the cabin crew.

SpiceJet issued a statement saying one of the passengers harassed the crew and caused the disturbance.
The airline also added, “The cabin crew informed PIC (pilot-in-command) and security staff about the incident.
