Ranchi, Sept.8: Union minister and former chief minister of Jharkhand Arjun Munda condemned the attack on BJP workers peacefully marching to the state assembly to protest against the allotment of a room for offering Namaz in the assembly premises.
“It is a shameful incident. The assembly, where people’s representatives go to protect the constitution, should not be used for religious appeasement. This is against the basic spirit of the constitution. The way barbaric action has been taken against the workers and common people is worth condemnation. The government wants to silence the voice with the help of baton but BJP workers are not afraid of this,” Munda said.
BJP state president and Rajya Sabha member Deepak Prakash in his statement issued in the evening said that the government is devoted to Namaz, not for employment. He said that the BJP workers are not afraid of this type of action as the party workers shine like gold by struggle. He said that the party will not sit peacefully until the uproot of the government. He claimed the participation of over 15000 workers in the demonstration.
The party state president said that the BJP believes in equality of religions but the way order was issued from the assembly to use a room for offering Namaz is a black spot on the temple of democracy.
Former chief minister and BJP legislature party chief Babulal Marandi said that the action of the lathi charge was a conspiracy and fight against the misdeeds of the state government will soon reach to villages in case allotment for a room for offering Namaz is not cancelled.
Former chief minister Raghubar Das in his statement said that the BJP is not afraid of bullets and batons and will continue its struggle.
