Ranchi, Oct.8: Jharkhand High Court Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan administered oath of office and secrecy to four newly appointed judges in a programme organized in the high court premises today.
The four judges include Gautam Kumar Choudhary, Ambuj Nath, Navneet Kumar and Sanjay Prasad.
The Centre on October 6 approved their names proposed by the Supreme Court Collegium in the matter of appointment of judges to the Jharkhand High Court.
After the consent of the Central Government, the notification of appointment had been issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Central Law and Justice Department. All the four judges who have got the approval of the collegium are officers of the State judicial service.
With the administration of oath to four new judges, the number of judges in Jharkhand High Court rose to 19 from 15 which is now only six less than the sanctioned strength of 25.
