Bengaluru: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are facing a tough phase in IPL 2025, particularly at their home ground — the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Despite a promising start to the season, RCB’s inability to win consistently at home has raised concerns among fans and cricket experts.
Mixed Bag For RCB This Season
RCB began their campaign with a solid win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and have secured three victories in their five matches so far. They have registered impressive away wins against KKR, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and Mumbai Indians (MI). However, their home ground has turned into a problem area, with losses against Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC).
Simon Doull Suggests Dressing Room Swap To Break The Jinx
Former New Zealand cricketer and cricket analyst Simon Doull has offered an out-of-the-box solution for RCB’s home troubles. Speaking on Cricbuzz, Doull humorously suggested that RCB should switch dressing rooms at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to change their luck.
“I think they should take all the signage down from the dressing room, and move it in the other one. Just change dressing rooms! It sounds silly, but sometimes a small change of scenery can do wonders,” Doull remarked.
RCB’s Upcoming Challenge Against Rajasthan Royals
RCB will next take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday. Both teams are coming into this match after disappointing losses in their previous outings.
RCB will be hoping to bounce back, while RR will look to recover from their heavy defeat against Gujarat Titans.
Current Standings In IPL 2025
RCB are currently placed fourth on the points table with three wins from five matches. Rajasthan Royals, with two wins in as many matches, are struggling at the seventh spot.
Key Players To Watch In The Next Clash
All eyes will be on RCB openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli as they gear up to face RR’s express pacer Jofra Archer. Archer, who had a poor start to the tournament, has shown remarkable improvement and will be a key threat to RCB’s top order.
