Ranchi, Aug 4: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has instructed all universities to refund the full fee in case a student cancels their enrollment by October 31 after admission for session 2022-23.
Notably, the UGC has implemented Fee Refund Policy 2022-2023. Under this, all the universities have been instructed to implement it through notifications.
Officials have said that the commission has requested the higher educational institutions to fix the last date for the undergraduate admission process after the declaration of class 12th result by CBSE. This is so that such students can get enough time for admission in undergraduate courses.
Also, it should be noted that there have been delays in entrance examinations like CUET, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, due to which the enrollment process for the session 2022-23 is likely to continue till October 2022.
In such a situation, in order to avoid the financial difficulties faced by the parents of the students, the UGC has decided that the entire fee will be refunded if the students cancel the enrollment by October 31, 2022. That is, no amount will be deducted from the deposited fee. If a student cancels his enrollment by December 31, 2022, then the balance amount will be returned after deducting one thousand rupees from his entire fee.
Earlier, the UGC had instructed all higher educational institutions to refund or adjust the mess charge and hostel fees to the students during the Covid period. Under this policy, instructions were given to all the institutions to return the amount in the session 2021-22 as well.
