Ranchi: Former Deputy Chief Minister and AJSU Party chief Sudesh Mahto has criticized the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), claiming it has strayed from the original ideals of Guruji Shibu Soren. Speaking to the media during a party joining ceremony at the AJSU central office, Mahto said that while Guruji considered alcohol to be harmful to society, the current Hemant Soren-led government is focused on boosting the state treasury through liquor sales, despite Jharkhand being rich in mineral resources.
Government’s Dual Standards and Lack of Clarity on PESA
Mahto also took a dig at the state government’s inconsistent approach towards PESA (Panchayats Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act, pointing out that the Chief Minister did not even attend related discussions. He further said the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) remains in disarray, causing significant anger among the youth due to ongoing recruitment irregularities.
