Dhanbad, Nov 10: The Dhanbad court dismissed the revision petition against Congress leaders including former union minister P Chidambaram, Salman Khurshid and former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijay Singh in the case of the book ‘Sunrise Over Ayodhya’. The leaders were accused of hurting the religious sentiments of people, spreading religious hatred and creating tension between the two communities.

The court of Principal District and Session Judge Ram Sharma while upholding the order of the lower court, dismissed the revision petition against the trio of senior leaders.

Earlier on August 22, 2022, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Santoshni Murmu of Special MP MLA Court dismissed the case filed against the three leaders.

On November 11, 2021, Dhanbad advocate Shiv Pukar Singh, a resident of Jharia, filed a case in court against them for writing and launching the book ‘Sunrise over Ayodhya’ written by Salman Khurshid and jointly launched by Chidambaram and Digvijay Singh.

The lawyer pointed out that on page 113 of the book, the author has hurt the religious feeling of the Hindu community. However, the Special Court of MP MLA dismissed the case on August 22, 2022. The petitioner filed a revision petition against the order of a lower court in the court of the principal district and session judge on September 21, 2022.
