Ranchi, May 8: Suspended IAS officer Pooja Singhal did not get relief from the Supreme Court as the apex court refused to hear her bail plea immediately and deferred hearing till September 25.
A division bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice A. Amanullah passed the order.
Singhal is accused of money laundering. The ED had arrested her on May 11 last year finding her involvement in the MNREGA scam. On January 4, the Supreme Court granted her provisional bail for a month to serve her ailing daughter. Later, the bail was extended till April 12 by the lower court in special circumstances. On April 12, she surrendered before the Prevention of Money Laundering Act special court and again sent to jail.
