Ranchi: Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi has sharply criticized the Jharkhand government over the suspicious encounter of Surya Hansda, demanding an investigation led by a sitting judge of the High Court to ensure justice for the tribal community.

Call for Judicial Inquiry

Marandi stated that only a probe under the supervision of a sitting High Court judge can provide transparency and fairness in this case. He emphasized that the tribal community deserves a thorough inquiry to uncover the truth behind Hansda’s death.

Tribute to Surya Hansda’s Activism

Sharing a video of Hansda’s speech on social media, Marandi highlighted that Hansda was a strong voice for tribal rights, advocating for education, safety, and dignity of tribal daughters. He was vocal against land exploitation and displacement of tribals. Marandi accused the Jharkhand Police of silencing this fearless youth through a suspicious encounter, and expressed that Hansda’s call for justice in the Santhal region will now grow into a larger movement.
